CrispView Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 10, 2026

CrispView ("the app") is made by Craftopia ("the developer"), an independent developer. It shows the files in your Microsoft OneDrive as a timeline, grouped by date. This policy explains what information the app handles.

No server of our own

The developer does not run a server. Your files travel directly between your device and Microsoft OneDrive so that the app can display them; they never pass through the developer. The developer cannot see or retrieve the contents of your files.

Permissions the app asks OneDrive for

ScopeWhat it is used for
Files.ReadWrite To list your files, fetch thumbnails and file contents, and to rename, move, delete, upload and create share links from inside the app. The whole point of the app is to show every kind of file in date order regardless of which folder it sits in, so a scope limited to one folder cannot do the job.
Files.ReadWrite.AppFolder To store the tags, albums, pins, corrected dates, hidden-folder settings and purchase record you create in an app-specific folder inside your own OneDrive, so that the same settings are available on your other devices.
offline_access So that you do not have to sign in again every time you open the app.

The app does not ask for access to files other people have shared with you (Files.ReadWrite.All). Microsoft's own privacy policy also applies to your use of a Microsoft account (Microsoft Privacy Statement).

What is stored on your device

InformationHow it is handled
A file index (name, date, size, extension, and location in OneDrive) A local copy so the list works offline and does not need a network round trip every time. It is stored only in a database on your device and is never sent to the developer.
Thumbnail images Cached on your device only, to make the list render quickly.
Files you chose with "Make available offline" Only the files you pick are stored on the device. You can remove them at any time from inside the app.
Microsoft account sign-in tokens Held securely on your device and used only to connect to OneDrive. They are never sent to the developer.
The password set on hidden folders Stored on your device only, in a form that cannot be reversed (a hash). This feature is meant to keep folders out of sight of someone next to you; it does not encrypt the files themselves.

Browsing folders on this device

Separately from OneDrive, the app can show folders on this device in the same way. It can only read the folders you explicitly pick in Android's own folder picker and never looks anywhere else. What it shows there is kept apart from the OneDrive index, tags and albums, and is never sent to the developer.

Advertising

The app shows no ads. It does not include an ad network (such as Google AdMob), and it never collects or uses the Advertising ID.

Purchases

The Android version is completely free. There are no ads and no in-app purchases.

The Windows and web versions have a paid version. Microsoft Store or Paddle handles the payment, and the developer never receives your card number or other payment details. The record of your purchase is stored in the app-specific folder in your OneDrive so that the same entitlement works on your other devices.

Analytics

The app does not include any third-party analytics tool or crash reporting.

Device permissions

The app does not ask for the camera, contacts, location, or access to all files on your device. It does not ask for the Advertising ID or Billing (Google Play) permissions either.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app does not delete the files in your OneDrive.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.
